Für Fans der Kapelle aus Krefeld ist das ein wahrer Leckerbissen. Die deutschen Metal Urgesteine sind seit ihrem Debütalbum Battalions of Fear (1988) im Geschäft. Dem folgten erfolgreiche Longplayer wie Follow the Blind (1989), Tales From the Twilight World (1990) und Somewhere Far Beyond (1992) sowie A Night at the Opera (2002).

„A Traveler´s Guide to Space and Time“ ist ein streng auf 8.000 Stück limitiertes Deluxe-Boxset mit insgesamt 15 CDs in 13 hochwertigen Digipacks. Blind Guardian haben zusammen mit der Plattenfirma ein Jahr an dem Paket gestrickt. Eine lange Zeit die sich aber gelohnt hat. Am Start sind neben sämtlichen Virgin-Album, sondern auch unveröffentlichte Demos, Bonustracks und alternative Versionen bekannter Stücke dieser Ära, allesamt neu remastert und teilweise sogar remixt.

Wer also das Glück hat eine der raren Boxen zu ergattern bekommt die sieben Studioalben Battalions of Fear, Follow the Blind, Tales from the Twilight World, Somewhere Far Beyond, Imaginations from the Other Side, Nightfall in Middle-Earth und A Night at the Opera, dazu die Bühnenwerke Tokyo Tales und Live sowie die Compilation The Forgotten Tales, allesamt mit 2012er Mastering und teilweise neuen Mixes. Oben drauf gibt es mit Imaginations through the Looking Glass das phänomenale Konzert aus Coburg 2003, plus die Spezialedition von Nightfall in Middle-Earth ohne Zwischenparts (inklusive eines neuen Gesangsmixes von ´Blood Tears`). Abgerundet wird das Ganze mit der Disc An Extraordinary Tale, auf der unveröffentlichte Demofassungen der Stücke ´Welcome to Dying`, ´Lord of the Rings`, ´The Bard`s Song (In The Forest)`, ´The Bard`s Song (The Hobbit)`, ´Theatre of Pain`, ´Trial by Fire` und ´I`m Alive` ebenso zu finden sind wie eine bislang unveröffentlichte, um etwa 90 Sekunden längere Version des Songs ´The Quest for Tanelorn` sowie die vergleichsweise rare Nummer ´Harvest of Sorrow`.

Visuell gibt es ein 20seitiges Hochglanz-Booklet mit Kommentaren der Bandmitglieder und mehr als 100 rare und überwiegend unveröffentlichte Fotos aus dem Privatbesitz der Musiker. Beigelegt ist außerdem ein nummerierter BLIND GUARDIAN-Kunstdruck auf Spezialpapier (Größe 31cm x 31cm) und ein Gitarrenplektrum mit dem eingravierten Bandlogo.
